Marriage Proposals and Celebrating the Coming of our Savior

I walked into Macy's bedroom this evening, and here is what I found:

Macy is quite the little dancer.

And her favorite dancing partner is Daddy.

So here's where the "marriage proposal" comes in. I happened to snap this picture right as Macy says to Daddy, "I wanna marry you Daddy."

Look how sweet her face is while she's asking him to marry her.
The picture was a little blurry, but it is too sweet not to post.

Sunday evening we began our favorite Christmas Tradition, Advent. We take the month of December to celebrate the coming of our Savior. We've been doing Advent each Christmas season for about 6 years and it just keeps getting better as the kids get older and can understand more of the glories of our God coming as a Man to be our Savior. Each evening we sing Christmas songs and read Scriptures that prepare our hearts to truly celebrate the Savior's birth. It's been neat to have Marian read the passages this year and Macy is grasping so much more.

These next pictures I took while the girls were praying. They truly melt my heart...

Macy's prayer tonight was thanking God for the earth
and for sending His Son to die on the cross.

Marian's prayer was thanking God for the Bible.

As you can see, our girls absolutely LOVE Advent.
It really is a special time for us as a family.

Thanksgiving & Christmas Tree Hunting

We have had such a great Thanksgiving. Here are a few pictures to share with you....
Eating Thanksgiving Dinner at Grammy's

Marian's famous "cross-eyes"

Maggie absolutely LOVES Marian and the feeling is definitely
mutual! I think Marian's the only one who will let Maggie
lick her face....maybe that's why they're such buddies!

Macy did a Tap Dance performance for everyone!

Cutting Down our Christmas Tree

The snow was super deep...this is what we trudged through
to get our tree....

Sledding always makes it worth the hike!

Place Cards!

In preparation for the big Thanksgiving Feast at Grammy's, the girls made place cards for each guest. Marian had just learned about "Indian Corn" in her play, so I thought these Indian corn place cards would be perfect for this year's feast! I found the idea in my Family Fun Magazine and they turned out so cute. The girls even wrote the names themselves (with the except of a few hard ones. :0)

What I love about these pictures is how they
show the ways the girls are different. You'll see
what I mean as you scroll down. :0)

Marian's hands stay amazingly clean while finger painting.

Then there's Mace.... :0)

Oh Boy!

I didn't even realize until we were half way
done that Macy had changed into this dress and
"clicky heels" for painting! Only Macy!!!

All done...wish I had taken a picture of Marian
with the finished product too before she left for Grammy's
tonight. She gets to spend the night at Gram's and help
with Thanksgiving prep.

The close up view.
Macy is such a goof-ball!

Marian's Thanksgiving Play

Marian had her Thanksgiving play this morning for school. She was the narrator and had so many lines to memorize. I was so amazed and proud of her for getting all the lines memorized! All the kids in the class did so well.

Yes, even Bear-Bear got to come. :0)

I love her face in this one, she's so determined trying to
remember her lines.

She's waiting for the play to start.
My Mom and I thought she looked like she was
going to burst with excitement!

Grandparents Day

Marian's school celebrated Grandparent's Day today. Grammy and Grandpa were able to get off work to come to chapel. The chapel was centered around Grandparents and their special role in the life of a child. As I sat there listening to all the different thoughts on Grandparents I was overwhelmed by the blessing of ALL Marian and Macy's Grandparents and Great-Grandparents. I know we do not thank you enough.....

To all of you, near and far....Thank you for the blessing you are to our girls. You make their lives so special by your love and support for them. Your love for our girls is a great gift to both Jon and I. Thanks for all your spoiling too....We love each of you so much and you have an irreplaceable role in their lives. They love you so much!
Happy Grandparents Day from each of us!

Here is a picture from the chapel this morning.

One Life to Live!

"Lord remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered-- how fleeting my life is."   Psalm 39:4

It seems like the days go so quick with these precious girls. I try to savor every moment. Our girls make every day sweeter! Here are a few of our most recent shots....

My little ham!

Can you tell how cold it was on our little photo shoot?

Macy is totally in her jammies, but I LOVE this one.

We took this picture for Nana and Papa of
Marian's two front teeth that are gone.

Macy and I going to work on our first snowman of the season....
Marian was at school :0(

The girls love to eat snow!

So I finally put the camera down so we
could get to work....no easy task for me!
The finished product.
Macy was so cute-- she gave the snowman eyes
and a hat made out of snow.:0)
